Hot Cocoa Heaven: Where to Find the Best on Long Island on December 13 | Laffey Real Estate

Hot cocoa ... it's not just for kids. Rediscover (or discover) the joys of this classic beverage during National Cocoa Day on Friday, 12/13. Our real estate agents share their favorite cafes and coffee shops to grab a warm-up.

  • Fern & Aurora - 3902 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY 11363
If you have a sweet tooth, Fern & Aurora is heaven on earth. Located just down the street from Little Neck homes for sale, the shop makes delightful treats that showcase classic Filipino flavors with a contemporary spin. Their signature burnt Basque cheesecakes add a layer of flavor with a distinctive caramelized top, while the Queens Blackout cake is a chocolate lover's dream. Take your hot chocolate straight or in a 50-50 coffee blend that balances sweetness and acidity. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

  • Smusht - 158 Main St., Port Washington, NY 11050
The treats at Smusht, only minutes from Port Washington homes for sale, are as delightful and clever as their name. A prime example is their gourmet, made-to-order hot cocoa. It begins with Ghiradelli-based house-blend chocolate that gets a dose of smooth richness with melted vanilla ice cream. Customize your order with homemade flavored marshmallows, extra ice cream, whipped topping, a dipping cookie, sprinkles, and hot fudge. Smusht is open 2 - 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 - 10 p.m. Friday, noon - 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon - 9 p.m. Sunday.

  • Coco Confections & Coffee - 365 Glen Cove Ave., Sea Cliff, NY 11579
Find out why Coco Confections & Coffee has been nominated for Bethpage Best of Long Island 2025 awards in the Best Chocolatier and Best Coffee House categories. With their meticulous approach to creating hand-painted truffles in flavors such as bourbon pecan pie, cold brew martini, and PB&J, Coco Confections considers themselves a chocolate boutique. Take a break from viewing Sea Cliff homes for sale to enjoy an exquisite truffle with a soothing cup of hot cocoa. Hours are 7:45 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily except weekends, when doors open at 8 a.m.

  • Fresco Crêperie & Café Williston Park - 72 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY 11596
Ooh la la! A visit to Fresco Crêperie & Café Williston Park will have you declaring, "C'est magnifique!" Their lineup of authentic sweet and savory crêpes includes smoked salmon, potatoes and eggs, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, and cannoli. In keeping with bringing European café vibes to the community around Williston Park homes for sale, the hot cocoa is made with Belgian chocolate and topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Hours are 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday.

  • Sugar Bae Dessert Cafe - 259 W. Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801
If you crave sugar "before anything else," you'll quickly find yourself in a meaningful relationship with Sugar Bae Dessert Cafe, not far from Hicksville homes for sale. Their signature offering is crepes, such as the namesake Sugar Bae with Nutella, fresh strawberries, bananas, and walnuts, but the options don't stop there. Choose freshly baked cookies, New York-style cheesecake, tiramisu, and other treats. Even the hot cocoa goes upscale with a helping of Nutella. Sugar Bae Dessert Cafe is open 6 p.m. - midnight Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; 4 p.m. - midnight Saturday; and 4 - 11 p.m. Sunday.
