Set Up Camp on Long Island - Laffey Real Estate

Gather your camping gear or stock up your RV to celebrate National Camping Month coming up in June! It's the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy nature at one of Long Island's picturesque parks and other campsite locations. Our real estate agents suggest setting up camp at the following Long Island destinations.

  1. Robert Moses State Park - 600 Robert Moses State Parkway, Babylon, NY 11702
If you set up camp at Robert Moses State Park near Babylon homes for sale, you'll have great views and plenty to do. The park has a shoreline of nearly 5 miles and is a popular spot to enjoy the beach, swim, boogie-board, surf, and go surf-fishing. An 18-hole Pitch & Putt Golf Course and playground are available for family fun, and you can venture to the Fire Island Lighthouse by taking a 3/4-mile nature walk through beautiful scenery.

  2. Blydenburgh County Park - Veteran's Memorial Highway, Smithtown, NY 11788
Blydenburgh County Park encompasses 627 acres of land, including trails, a dog run, a playground, and more, giving you plenty to do on your camping excursion. It's located at the headwaters of the Nissequogue River, convenient to Smithtown homes for sale. Campers can also participate in various water-related activities, including fishing, row boating, kayaking, and canoeing. And if you own a horse, bring it along to utilize a bridle path system and practice ring.

  3. Nickerson Beach Campground - 880 Lido Blvd., Lido Beach, NY 11561
If your idea of fun isn't pitching a tent and tucking into a sleeping bag at night, Nickerson Beach Campground might be what you're looking for. It has 74 sites for RVs, and if you don't have your own, you can rent a restored 31-foot Airstream Sovereign with everything you need, from dishes to towels. While at the campground bordering the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy beaches, swimming, pitch and putt, and a pool.

  4. Cathedral Pines County Park - 116 Yaphank Middle Island Rd., Middle Island, NY 11953
    Cathedral Pines County Park
is located along the headwaters of the Carmans River and adjacent to Prosser Pines Nature Preserve, making it a great camping location. The park covers 320 acres and has campsites with water and electric hookups. While camping in the park, head to the nature center to hike and enjoy some great photo ops.

  5. Hither Hills State Park - 164 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, NY 11954
    Hither Hills State Park
campsites are so popular that early reservations are definitely recommended. The 189-site campground is on the ocean, so you can count on amazing views and a sandy beach to relax and play on. You can also visit the "walking dunes" of Napeague Harbor, which are on the park's eastern boundary. They're four parabolic sand dunes that move 3.5 inches yearly, making them a unique type of landform worth visiting.
