National Bacon Day - Long Island - Laffey Real Estate

According to Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, bacon is special because it appeals to all of our senses. All our real estate agents know is that it tastes amazing. Celebrate Bacon Day on Friday, December 30 with a tasty meal at one of these great Long Island restaurants.

  • Toast & Co. - 62 Stewart Ave., Huntington, NY 11743
Like your bacon with a bit of a kick? Toast & Co. serves a zesty jalapeño bacon omelet with cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and cilantro sour cream. The spicy pork can also be paired with melted blue cheese in a bowl of creamy mac and cheese. Classic BLT sandwiches and wraps can be dressed up with the addition of chicken or shrimp and guacamole. Both breakfast and lunch are served all day, making Toast & Co. a perfect meal stop while touring Huntington homes for sale. Hours are 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

  • Jackson Hall American Bar & Grille - 335 E. Main St., East Islip, NY 11730
Jackson Hall American Bar & Grille takes a cue from Mexican street food for a twist on a comfort food breakfast. Scrambled eggs and bacon are mixed with cheese and folded into a pancake "taco shell." Bacon has another starring role in decadent loaded fries, which include mixed cheeses, gravy, and truffle oil. Jackson Hall is open from noon - 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday.

  • Red Salt Room - 45 Seventh St., Garden City, NY 11530
Comfortably elegant Red Salt Room features celebrity chef David Burke's iconic (and Instagram-worthy) clothesline bacon. Strips of maple-glazed bacon are suspended from clothespins so you can use the provided scissors to snip off bite-sized pieces. Enjoy the original version on the brunch menu, or try the appetizer version, which includes pickle slices underneath the bacon. Dinner is served Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. Sunday brunch is available from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner and required for brunch.

  • That Meetball Place - 206 Main St., Farmingdale, NY 11735
Bacon takes a number of delightful forms on the menu of That Meetball Place, a warm and inviting gastropub only minutes from Farmingdale homes for sale. Customers rave about the bacon cheddar tots, and bacon stars in the loaded potato soup and loaded mashed potatoes. Burgers are topped with bacon jam, while eggs are scrambled with bacon, hash browns, and sriracha ketchup for breakfast eggrolls. Hours are noon - 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon - midnight Friday, 10 a.m. - midnight Saturday, and 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Sunday.

  • Peter Luger Steak House - 255 Northern Blvd., Great Neck, NY 11021
The restaurant may be called Peter Luger Steak House, but this legendary New York eatery, not far from Great Neck homes for sale, is famous for their bacon. As one reviewer put it, the bacon is so thick you can measure it with a ruler. Bacon even bears the Luger name on the menu, where it can be ordered by the slice as an appetizer. Peter Luger is open 11:45 a.m. - 9:45 p.m. daily except Sunday when doors open at 12:45 p.m.

Bringing home the bacon is even better when you live in Long Island. Contact us at Laffey Real Estate for cheerful and experienced help buying or selling a home.
